Concerning the 104-key Illustrator template, I assume I would have to modify it by deleting the unneeded keys since I would like an 87-key(?) Should I keep the size of the artboard the same, or will that mess up the process on your side?

Also, do you only place images on the keys? If I provide the whole design, including cut up images for the keys, would it be possible to have an entire design on the keyboard itself?

Furthermore, I was wondering something about the keys themselves. If I want to change keys - let's say I want to swap the F with the M for example - could that be done as well? Where the keys are swapped but retain the original function F still functions as F, and M still functions as M etc. etc. etc.

For an 87-key layout, you would use the 104-key template and simply ignore the number pad area.

The maximum printable area for the keys is the top surfaces only. If you wanted printing on the case as well, we can do so. More info and ordering found here: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/printed-keycap-singles/custom-case-print.html

We can print the keys as anything you like, but the functionality would be dictated by your system's keyboard language settings. You would need to use a key remapping software to make specialized changes.

Thanks Paige. Link is much appreciated. As for the software, I will see which I find more suited for me.

what version of inkscape do you use? i started editing with an old version of inkscape (90dpi), then i updated to latest version (96dpi) graphics is all messed up (font sizes and position) so i think i have to redo all my layout, but the main question is: will it show up correctly in your machines????

We are using the latest version of Inkscape, so we will need any submitted layouts to be created in the latest version if they are to show up correctly.

Inkscape recommends Mac users run the previous stable version for now. (https://inkscape.org/en/download/mac-os/)

We have had issues with templates made or edited in Sketch in the past, so Inkscape is preferable even if it is the older version.

Do you have an Inkscape or Illustrator template for the "Modern with Function Layer" layout? I am configuring a WASD VP3 61-Key Custom Mechanical Keyboard. Thanks

The template "wasd-inkscape-61-11.13.2017.svg" has Modern with Function layer as one of the options.

Hey, I have a question about the template- when printing, does it also print on the slopes/sides of the keys? and if so, what area dictates the slope? I'm assuming the gridded section is the face of the key, and the space between the grid and the edge is the side of the key?

We are not equipped to print on the sides or fronts of the keys, only the tops. The grid is for alignment purposes, while the key frame shapes are the actual outer edges of the key top, and the maximum printable area.

is it possible to have custom keys made that the printing will let light shine through for backlit keyboards?
