Some questions about the new v3 release

    Hi,

We do have a 105-key version, which has all the same features as the 104-key model and others.

    Yes there will.

On the CODE model, the LEDs have always been dimmable. If you're talking about the indicator LEDs, then no, sorry.

You can set a new layer with the key functions anywhere you like, and have multiple layers for different applications.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

The Caps Lock, Num Lock, Scroll Lock LED's were way too bright in the v2 version (I had big red dots on my ceilling ;-) ).

Was that corrected? Because I wont to buy a new keyboard, so I have to "over-tape" the Leds again ;-)

    Cheers

    Hi,

As far as I know, they going to be the same brightness, but the ability to change their color will be present.

Well, I suppose it depends on in what manner you allow us to change their color whether their brightness will be adjustable.

If you allow us to set all three RGB values independently, brightness control comes "for free" by simply choosing darker RGB combinations.

However, if you just allow restricted control such as, let's say, only choosing the hue as in cycling through a rainbow or color wheel, then a lower brightness might remain out of reach.

Anyway, I already ordered a V3, so I'll likely be able to check it out first-hand in the middle or end of February.

    @Paige

Sorry but I'm al little bit confused.

6 month ago Wayman from your Team said:

"We have a minor refresh to our PCB in the coming months that will include the ability for the end user to program the color and brightness of the indicator LEDs directly with the keyboard.

Just to be clear, we are not adding RGB LEDs to the whole keyboard."

    https://support.wasdkeyboards.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360000833388-Adjust-the-brightness-of-the-LEDs

The problem of far too bright LEDs has long been known.

I was not made aware of that bit of functionality, but if Weyman said it, then that would be the case.

Please confirm that barebones V3 with blue switches will have Costar stabilizers and I am buying it :)

When will the first models be delivered?

I would buy a new model if the LED are dimmable or have a normal brightness...

We are expecting them to start shipping with a week or so. Delivery will depend on the shipping method chosen.

Will there be a white case for V3 sold separately? Like the one for V2: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/keyboard-parts/wasd-v2-104-key-or-105-key-white-keyboard-case.html

However, I suspect that V3 reuses V2 Type-C case without any modifications whatsoever. In case it does, you can update its product description to mention V3 compatibility.

There will be white cases for the V3 available, thanks for the reminder, we're still going through the site updating listings.

Our V3 custom 88 and 105 ISO keyboard variants do have ABS keycaps. If you are referring to the GMK doubleshot ABS keyboards, the keycap sets do not come with different ISO variants, sorry.

Meanwhile, can anyone say whether the brightness of the control LEDs can now be changed with the new V3 models (Num Lock, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock)? And how bright are they in the new model V3?
These were way too bright in the V2.

    Cheers

The lock indicator LEDs do not have brightness control, but they are not quite as bright as they were previously. You could also change them to a color that is more pleasing to you

How to change capslock to CTRL on the Code V3? The "manual" doesn't make any reference to it.

If the keyboard has the V2 firmware, there is a dip switch for changing the Caps lock to Ctrl. Version 0.9 firmware does not have that dip switch option, unfortunately. The 1.0 firmware will allow for key remapping, so you could assign anything you like to Caps lock.
